Ya know Ironman fitness is so cool. Yesterday I had the greatest swim. Real busy at work now. I have a great job, in that I can basically set the time to do things. It’s mostly tied down to dates and timelines. How I get there is up to me most of the time. So yesterday I decided that in the early afternoon I’d go for a swim when the pool was empty. Didn’t bike yesterday and went to the field for some work. After the mary last weekend and the week of cycling I need to take a couple of days off and rest the legs so, kinda quit on the 300k ride this morning with the club. Sometimes ya gotta do shit like that. I am making myself take the rest. Felt good this week so, figured that I haven’t been swimming that much and the Oliver Half IM is coming up in a few weeks (June 01). I had better get movin’. What shape am I in for the swim???? So, I went for a swim. Figured loooooong and see how I feel. Haven’t done an IM or greater swim since IMC 2007 back in August! Here’s the fun set in a 30m pool:
WU 300m (Z1,2)
3×800m in Z2 on 30s rest
10×120m sets (30m Z2, 30m Z5, 60m Z2) on 30s rest
CD 120m
A great swim of 4.2km and it felt like nuthin’! Except for the 30m Z5 sprints, ouch! Being fit is great. To know that you can get in the pool and swim for 1:15hrs. and it feel like nothing is just SO cool! Thanks Ironman.

Looking good Libor. I need to hit the pool too, or else I am really going to struggle in my oly.
